CT SCAN

A computerized tomography (CT) scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around your body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body. CT scan images provide more-detailed information than plain X-rays do. At Magnus diagnostic centre we have a high end Simens 32 slice CT scan machine with advanced software capable of generating high quality imaging with 3D capabilities. With this technology and experienced radiologists your diagnosis will be accurate.

What is a CT scan vs MRI?

CT Scan vs. MRI. CT scans and MRIs are both used to capture images within your body. The biggest difference is that MRIs (magnetic resonance imaging) use radio waves and CT (computed tomography) scans use X-rays. CT scan cost much less compared to an MRI scan.

How long it takes to do CT scan?

At Magnus diagnostic centre we perform a CT scan between 15 minutes. If you are having a CT scan with oral contrast, it could take as long as 1 hour.

Is CT scan painful?

We at Magnus diagnostic centre make sure the Procedure is done with no pain

Is one CT scan harmful?

The radiation exposure from CT is higher than that from standard x-ray procedures, but the increase in cancer risk from one CT scan is still small. CT scans provide critical information. When a severely ill patient  undergoes CT scan, the scan are important for diagnosis and treatment.

Is MRI safer than CT?

In terms of radiation exposure, yes MRI Scan are safer than CT scan.

The biggest differences between an MRI and a CT Scan is the use of radiation and a magnetic field. An MRI does not use radiation, and a CT Scan does not use a magnet. Meaning, one is safer than the other for some patients. Anyone with metal in their body (pacemaker, stent, implant etc.)
