CBCT SCAN

A single CBCT scan can show potential dental issues such as tooth decay, bone loss, abnormal growths, facial fractures, periodontal infections, irregularities of the temporomandibular joint, and problems with the tooth roots or dental pulp.

What is the difference between CT scan and CBCT?

With that being said, the main difference between CT and CBT is the shape of the beams—CT scans use fan-shaped x-ray beams that rotate while the patient advances (think of a CAT scan) to capture limited thickness slices, while CBCT uses a cone-shaped area detector that does not require patient movement.

Is CBCT safe?

As outlined in the ALARA principle, every precaution should be taken to minimize radiation exposure. Radiation exposure from CBCT is up to 10 times less than that incurred from medical CT scanning.

Which has better resolution CT or CBCT?

That is, CBCT showed higher spatial resolution than the CT scan. CBCT scan has greater resolution and is related to the smaller size detectors that are present in the CBCT system.
